“Honeycomb-like”. Generally found on the edges of the floc. Nitrifying bacteria. AOB (ammonia oxidizing bacteria).

Viewed upon Neisser staining. Neisser positive “grape-like” structure. Often believed to compete with PAOs (polyphosphate accumulating organisms) for substrate in anaerobic processes.

Thin stalk with tip. Correlated to C1 compounds (i.e., methanol).
